Dear Parents/Guardians,

Message from the Bennett’s: Dear Wallace Family, Rob and I would like to take a minute and thank you all. The love and support you all have shown us during Paige’s illness has been nothing short of amazing. We thank each and every one of you for all that you have done, all the phone calls, cards, money, gift cards, all of this helped us through such a sad and rough time. We would like to thank the Wallace School Board for planting the Oak Tree, all of the first and fourth graders for the red balloons. Again, THANK YOU ALL. Thank You: Thank you to the following individuals in assisting with the graduation activities last night—Mrs. English, Mrs. Darm, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Laurie Killelea, Mrs. Conrad, Mrs. Schmidt, Mrs. Hettel, Mrs. Krause, Mrs. Piercy, and Mrs. Shanley. Thank you to the Parents’ Club organization for funding this event.

Donations Welcome: Wallace Grade School is looking for donations of old discman headphone systems-must be CD playable. Donations will be used for our Read Naturally reading interventions—students read along while listening to a CD. Please send any usable items to the main office.

Awards Day: Kindergarten through 7^th grade classes will hold Awards Day on Thursday, May 29. Kindergarten through 4^th grade students will be honored at 9:00 a.m.; 5^th through 7^th grade students will be honored at 10:15 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend.

Lunch Accounts/Outstanding Balances: Students have been sent lunch account balances. Please become current on any outstanding balances. Report cards will be held for students with outstanding balances.

2008-2009 Registration: Registration for the 2008-2009 school year will be held on Monday, July 14, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Students entering kindergarten and 5^th grade will need a current physical on file before the first day of school. Beginning this year, the State is mandating the kindergarten students have an eye exam on file. Also, kindergarten, 2^nd, and 6^th grade students need a current dental examination. Registration packets will be sent in June; please complete and return information during registration. Registration fees are $125 for kindergarten students and $85 for 1^st-8^th grade students.

Important Calendar Dates/Times:

-Thursday, May 29, Kindergarten through 7^th Grade Awards Day, K-4 at 9:00 a.m. and

5-7 at 10:15 a.m.

-Monday, June 2 (1:30 p.m. out), Field Day.

-Tuesday, June 3, 1hour for report cards—9:30 a.m. dismissal.

-Wednesday, June 4, Teacher’s Institute.
